Medium-sized businesses are those dedicated to trade from 31 to 100 workers and generate annual sales from 100 million up to and in excess of 250 million pesos.

They are economic units with the opportunity to develop their competitiveness by improving their organization and processes, and enhancing their business skills.

Among their features are a level of complexity in terms of coordination and control and they involve people who can take on functions of coordination, control and decision-making, which implies redefining the break-even point and simultaneously raising the degree of commitment of the business.

They represent almost 11 percent of all businesses in the country and almost 17 percent of employment; they also generate more than 22 percent of the Gross Domestic Product.
