Every year for more than a decade, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), through its magazine Technology Review, has sought the world’s most outstanding young innovators under 35 to receive the TR35 awards.

This year, Technology Review in Spanish is announcing the first edition of the TR35 awards in Mexico. The aim is to find fascinating, inspiring and revolutionary new work which will shape the world of technology and business in the near future.

The awards cover a plethora of activity sectors, from biotechnology, the development of new materials, energy and software to transport and Internet, among others.

The MIT is looking for people whose work in any of these areas is a promise of major development in the coming decades.

Its goal is to recognize the development of new technologies or the creative application of existing ones to solve current problems. MIT's desire is to reward work which is creative, original and relevant not only to the industry it is part of but to society as a whole.
